At Project Kalaā, we believe true luxury isn’t found in trends or labels—it’s found in the hands that made something, in the stories it carries, and in the legacy it leaves behind.

We’re Ash and Mallika—originally from New Delhi, India, now calling British Columbia, Canada our home. When we moved here in 2019 to begin a new chapter together, we were filled with the excitement of setting up our first home. Like many, we went out in search of pieces that felt special—something meaningful that could make a house feel like ours.

But what we found in most stores was the same: mass-produced, soulless decor with no story to tell.

That’s when we thought back to the things we grew up with in India—hand-carved wooden bowls passed down through generations, antique jharokhas that once framed royal views, and rustic vessels worn beautifully by time. These weren’t just objects. They were living pieces of art, full of history, craftsmanship, and soul. And suddenly, we knew—we had to share this magic with the world.

That’s how Project Kalaā began.
