***CARVED DETAILS ON ALL 4 CORNERS OF THE BENCH***

Before it was a bench, this piece was part of a building. The hand-carved corbels on the apron, scrolling acanthus leaves in high relief, beaded edging along the top rail, were cut by hand into solid teak by a craftsman who understood that the detail is the point. This kind of carving was done for temples and havelis in old India, where things were built to outlast the people who commissioned them. This one has.

The top surface is flat and honest, aged to a warm honey-brown. Two solid panel legs at the sides keep the form simple so the carved apron does everything it needs to do.

Place it in an entryway where the carving is the first thing a visitor sees. Use it at the foot of a bed or against a pale lime wash wall where the carved detail catches the light differently at every hour of the day.

Rooted in Craft. Chosen with Intention. Built to Outlast Everything Made Today.

Every object in our collection has been sourced directly from its origin, handled personally by us, and researched before a single word is written about it. We choose stone for the density of its patina, teak for the grain of its age, iron for the weight of its making, and clay for the honesty of the hand that shaped it. Nothing here was produced. Nothing was commissioned. Nothing was made to look old. Every piece exists exactly as time made it — and we chose it because we believed it deserved a home that understood that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the piece look exactly like it does in the photographs?

We photograph every object in natural light and from multiple angles to show you exactly what you are getting — including its imperfections, patina, and texture. What you see is what arrives at your door.

How do I know these products are genuinely vintage?

Every piece is personally sourced and handpicked by us. We research each object's origin, age, and history before it enters our collection. The story we tell is real — not marketing.

Am I receiving the exact object shown in the listing?

Yes, always. Every object in our collection is one-of-a-kind. The piece in the photograph is the exact piece that will be packed and shipped to you. There are no duplicates, no alternatives, no substitutions.

The imperfections look significant. Should I be concerned?

Not at all. The cracks, the worn surfaces, the uneven edges — these are not flaws. They are a century of life made visible. We describe every significant marking in the product listing so there are no surprises.
