Vintage Stone Chapati Riser

Each riser (or display stand) was hand-carved from solid granite and was used daily for rolling flatbread, grinding spices, and preparing paste, worn into its particular shape over decades of use. 

Place it on a kitchen counter beside the stove with an oil bottle and a salt cellar on top. Set it on a dining table as a centerpiece with a single pillar candle or a plant. Rest it on a bathroom counter with a bar of soap and a taper. The form is ancient enough to belong anywhere that values things made by hand and aged by time.

Each piece in this collection is one of a kind. The shape, the surface markings and the particular grey tone of the stone you receive will be entirely its own.
